Office of Financial Aid

The UIC Law Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) is committed to helping all law students find the financial resources necessary to succeed in law school. The financial aid team offers an array of federal, state, and institutional programs to help students learn and understand the financial aid process, from matriculation through each year of the law curriculum.

If you are in need of financial assistance, you are highly encouraged to complete the necessary paperwork by the appropriate deadlines.

Newly Admitted and Continuing Students: Heading link

2024/2025 FAFSA applications are expected to be sent to schools in late March or early April 2024, due to processing delays from the Department of Education. Once UIC Law Financial Aid receives your FAFSA, you will see a confirmation in the Financial Aid section of the student portal through your www.my.uic.edu account. If you have completed the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid and included our school code (001776), no further action is required.

Newly admitted students who are not required to submit additional documentation will begin receiving Financial Aid Notifications in mid-April at the earliest. Continuing students who are not required to submit additional documentation will begin receiving Financial Aid Notifications in mid-May at the earliest. The Financial Aid Notification will outline your aid offer, including institutional scholarships and loans. UIC Law Financial Aid will provide updates if this timeline changes.

Resident Tuition Cost: $1200 per credit
Non-Resident AND International Tuition Cost: $1500 per credit

**Fees may vary by student**

Please Note: If a student is receiving a scholarship(s) this will impact student loan borrowing and help reduce student loan debt.

The Financial Aid team has created a Cost Sheet for students, with estimates of tuition and fees for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. The cost sheet provides students with estimates for three years in law school.
