Each year, the Career Services Office (CSO) plans many career-related programs. These programs include practice-area roundtables, skills-based workshops, and networking receptions. The CSO also organizes an Alumni Mentoring Program and other events to expose students to government, public interest, and law firm employers.

Collaboration with Area Law Schools through the Chicago Area Law School Consortium Heading link

The Career Services Office also organizes and co-sponsors a number of programs with other law school career services offices in the Chicagoland area, as a part of its involvement with the Chicago Area Law School Consortium (CALSC). The Chicago Area Law School Consortium consists of the six Chicago area law schools (Chicago-Kent, DePaul, UIC Law, Loyola, Northwestern, and the University of Chicago) as well as five additional schools from the surrounding areas (Northern Illinois University, Notre Dame, Southern Illinois University, the University of Illinois, and Valparaiso). Together CALSC organizes several annual events for students and employers including those detailed below.

MPILCC: Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference
The Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference enables employers from public interest and government organizations and JD students to gather for a day of interviews and informal networking. MPILCC is held each February at Northwestern University School of Law.

Law students from CALSC schools are invited to mix and mingle with more than 50 attorneys from the represented practice areas. This event typically takes place in either November or February at the Chicago Bar Association.

The Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) and CALSC partner to organize this program. It will also address incorporating pro bono and public interest law into your experience in law school and throughout your career and includes a presentation on the nuts and bolts of landing a position at a public interest organization. This is a great opportunity for students to meet with leading attorneys in private, government and public interest law practice. This event typically takes place each October at Chicago-Kent College of Law.
