I'm thinking of studying as a visiting student at another law school. How do I do this?

Please review the UIC JD Students Visiting at Another ABA-Accredited Law School policy and procedures.

Where can I see the previous JD/LLM course numbers?

As a result of the UIC transition, JMLS course numbers have been renumbered to comply with UIC’s course numbering system.  Many former “JD” courses have been assigned new subject codes (i.e. TADR or LAW), while some retain the JD subject code. Former course numbers can be found in the course descriptions within the Course Catalog or XE Registration.

My course is waitlisted; what should I do?

It is highly recommended that students add themselves to the waitlist.  If you have an opportunity to get a seat in the class, you will receive an email message and will have 24 hours to register before the system moves onto the next student on the waitlist.  You can also remove yourself from the waitlist. Waitlists are purged 1 week into the semester.

I’m registered for a course in XE Registration; why can’t I see my course on Blackboard?

Course pages are loaded into Blackboard a couple of weeks before the start of each term. After course pages are available for a term, or after a student is registered for a course in XE Registration, it can take 24-48 hours for a student to be added to Blackboard. If you need additional assistance with Blackboard, please contact, Chris Bevard, Assistant Director of Educational Technology, at cbevard@uic.edu.

Former students with degrees no longer offered at UIC Law, such as MJ and LLM, may request verification records through the  University Registrar’s Office transcripts webpage. Any additional questions about inactive programs can be directed to law-registrar@uic.edu.
