David Whelan joined the UIC Law Library in 2024 as the Law Library and Instructional Technology Director. During his career, David has been a law library director and led information technology, records management, and archives teams in the United States and Canada. He has worked at the American Bar Association, the Law Society of Ontario, and public law libraries in California and Ohio. David writes regularly on his award-winning blog, exploring issues related to law library leadership, legal information and research, and web technology. His interest in lawyer practice competence led him to write Practice Law in the Cloud and Finding and Managing Legal Information on the Internet. David speaks regularly on legal information, law practice technology, and law librarianship issues.
