This program is designed to give first-year law students from diverse backgrounds career development and relationship building opportunities throughout their 1L summer. Program participants spend their summer working at LCLD Member organizations and are offered the unique opportunity to learn from current attorneys and experts about how to maximize their experience.
In addition to a meaningful summer internship, 2025Â 1L Scholars also benefit from their participation in the 1L Scholars Virtual Experience, held June 3-5, 2025. The innovative curriculum, designed specifically for 1L Scholars, includes:
- Law Firm Mechanics to learn the basics of law firm business models
- Advice for Navigating their Summer from a panel of LCLD attorneys
- Virtual Mock Interviews and Resume Review with current attorneys
- Office hours with LCLD Alumni to gain practical advice and insight
