About
Barbara Gottesman serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Projects at the UIC School of Law, where she oversees strategic planning, special projects, and initiatives that advance the school’s mission and support institutional goals. She collaborates across units and with campus partners to enhance programs, support processes, and strengthen institutional operations.
A proud two-time UIC alumna with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Sciences (Industrial Psychology) and an M.P.H. in Health Policy and Administration, Barbara brings more than a decade of experience in higher education administration, project management, and program development.
Beyond her role at the Law School, Barbara is deeply engaged in campus governance and professional development. She currently serves as Chair of the Academic Professional Advisory Committee (APAC), where she has helped shape mentorship, engagement, and retention initiatives across the university.
Barbara is committed to fostering collaboration, supporting professional growth, and advancing UIC’s mission to create an inclusive, innovative, and community-driven academic environment.
