About
Alberto Vargas is a staff attorney and adjunct professor in the Community Enterprise and Solidarity Economy Clinic. He co-teaches the clinic’s seminar class and supervises law students as they provide legal advice to worker-owned cooperative businesses, non-profits, and small businesses that operate for the benefit of an underserved community.
Before joining UIC Law, he was an assistant general counsel in the Transactions Unit in the Law Department of the Chicago Board of Education. Before that, he worked at Kirkland & Ellis as an associate in the Technology and Intellectual Property Transactions practice group.
Alberto received his JD with honors from the University of Chicago Law School and his BME in general music education and bilingual/ESL education with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is fluent in Spanish.
