“Know Your Rights” Immigration Open Forum

February 19, 2025

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM CST

Location

S-1210

The International Human Rights Clinic (IHRC) invites you to "Know Your Rights," an open forum designed to provide clarity and insight into the Trump Administration’s executive orders and policies related to immigration. As these policies continue to evolve, it is crucial to understand their legal implications and how they may impact individuals, families, and communities.

This forum will feature two distinguished speakers who will offer their legal perspectives:

  • Associate Dean Steve Schwinn – A constitutional law expert who will discuss the broader legal framework surrounding executive orders and immigration policy.
  • Alejandra Palacios – IHRC Staff Attorney specializing in immigration law, who will provide practical insights on immigrant rights and available legal protections.

This is an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and the wider UIC community to engage in an open discussion, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of their rights under current immigration policies. Whether you are directly affected by these policies or simply want to be informed, we encourage you to attend.
