Law cases book
Mock Class: Statutory Interpretation
A statue, also known as a law or a bill, outlines specific rules and commitments the people must follow; however, they can also be vague and left open to interpretation. Dean Julie Spanbauer gave students a first-hand look into how lawyers read and analyze legislation and cases. This mock law class is similar to the Lawyering Skills or Expert Learning curriculum students take here at UIC Law.

Mock Class: Property Law
Students dove into the world of Property Law with Professor Kordesh. In this mock law class, students saw how a lawyer might read some cases about property law, extract rules from the cases, and apply the rules to other scenarios using an issue of property law that most students were familiar with from everyday life.

Mock Trial
We’ll see you in court! In this session, students were divided into groups, given assignments, and underwent a series of simulation trainings with real life judges as they prepared to defend cases in a mock trial. Guest judges included Justice Jesse Reyes, Justice David Navarro, and the Honorable Maryam Ahmad.
