Prepare Yourself For Law School
The UIC Law Vivify Program (Vivify) is a free three-day program providing access and opportunities to incoming first-year students. The program aims to make students aware of not only the various pitfalls that students stumble into, but also the successful tips/habits of our most thriving law students.
The Vivify Experience
Vivify is an exclusive program designed to prepare incoming law students to successfully navigate the crucial first year of law school. Take a look at what you can expect:

Vivify includes We Belong Day, First-Generation Orientation, and Family & Friends Day. It is designed to engage students in a series of interconnected sessions that illuminate the crucial components to law school success and satisfaction and optimize student outcomes.
Vivify will:
- Provide a general overview of what to expect from law school
- Host a Family & Friends Day where students can invite select family and loved ones to visit the law school, and gain insight on how to best support your educational journey
- Facilitate networking opportunities with current law students, faculty, staff, and alumni
- Answer questions about academic achievement, student organizations, time and stress management, budgets and scholarships, well-being, and Chicago
Networking & Community Building
The program will begin with a dedicated networking and community-building session. Students will come together for a shared kickoff before breaking into smaller groups, where they’ll have the opportunity to engage with fellow incoming students, student leaders, faculty, and staff.
Presentations & Expectations
The second day of the program will focus on equipping students with the information and tools they need to start strong. Through a series of presentations led by key administrators, students will gain insights on how to navigate common first-year challenges and set realistic expectations for the road ahead.
Family & Friends Day
The third day focuses on helping family and friends better understand the law school journey and how to support their students. While supporters attend a mock class, students will participate in a scavenger hunt to explore campus and connect with staff. The day concludes with a panel featuring current students and their supporters.
