Join us for Rising Attorneys Inclusive Summer Experience (R.A.I.S.E) 2026, a free, exciting two-day immersive event for students interested in learning more about law! Explore how to prepare for, apply to, and finance law school; learn what to expect during law school; and discover how you can use a JD degree to improve yourself, your community, and society.

Open to All Majors

R.A.I.S.E is suitable for ALL majors, from political science to STEM to art to business, and everything else. Join us to learn how you can combine your passions with a law degree! Many previous students who had not considered law school have learned about the possibilities that law school offers.

Eligibility:

  • In Summer 2026 we are opening R.A.I.S.E. to the following undergraduate students:
    • Current UIC undergrad students (UIC students get priority)
    • Current undergrad students in any U of I school
    • Current undergrad students in any college with a 3+3 program or an MOU with UIC Law
  • Priority will be given to students closer to graduating
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Preference will be given to first generation college students

What to Expect

mock class

Experience the rigor and excitement of law school through our interactive mock classes. Led by esteemed UIC Law professors, these sessions delve into various legal topics, providing students with a glimpse into the analytical and critical thinking skills required in legal education.

Past classes have covered subjects such as Trademark Law, Restorative Justice, the Right to Publicity in Video Games, and Evidence, offering diverse perspectives on the legal landscape.

Gain invaluable insights into the law school journey with our comprehensive presentations. Topics include navigating the admissions process, securing financial aid, and strategies for success during law school.

These sessions are designed to equip aspiring law students with the knowledge and resources needed to embark on their legal careers confidently.

mock trial

Step into the courtroom and put your advocacy skills to the test in our immersive mock trial experience. Participants are divided into teams, assigned roles, and guided through trial preparation and execution under the mentorship of experienced legal professionals.

The simulation culminates in a trial presided over by real judges, offering a realistic and engaging introduction to courtroom proceedings.

networking

Connect with a vibrant community of legal professionals, including UIC Law faculty, alumni, and practicing attorneys. Our networking events, such as “An Evening With UIC Law Alumni,” provide a platform for students to build relationships, seek mentorship, and explore various legal career paths.

Engage in meaningful conversations over shared meals and gain firsthand insights into the legal profession.
