Mock Classes
Participants gained firsthand exposure to the law school experience through a series of interactive mock classes led by UIC Law faculty. Designed to introduce students to the analytical and critical thinking skills central to legal education, the sessions explored foundational areas of the law, including Tort Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, and Trademark Law. Through engaging discussions and real-world legal scenarios, students experienced the rigor, complexity, and intellectual curiosity that define the study of law.

Students attended a series of presentations focused on key aspects of the law school journey. Sessions covered the admissions process, financing a legal education, and strategies for academic success, providing practical guidance on getting into law school, paying for law school, and thriving once enrolled. These presentations equipped participants with valuable knowledge and resources to help them navigate their path to a legal career with confidence.

Mock Trial
Participants put their advocacy and critical thinking skills into practice through a hands-on mock trial experience. Working in teams, students analyzed a case, developed legal arguments, and prepared for trial with guidance from UIC Law faculty and legal professionals. The program culminated in a mock trial competition presided over by Illinois Appellate Court Justice Jesse Reyes and Illinois Circuit Court Judge David Navarro, giving participants a unique opportunity to present their arguments before members of the judiciary and gain firsthand insight into courtroom procedure and oral advocacy.

Networking
Participants had the opportunity to connect with members of the UIC Law community through networking and mentorship experiences throughout the program. During a special dinner, students met with Dean Sonia Green and members of the UIC Law Mock Trial Team, engaging in conversations about law school, advocacy, leadership, and career opportunities in the legal profession. These interactions provided valuable firsthand insights and allowed participants to build connections with current law students and law school leadership.
